Data Analysis in Grade One
In the past few weeks, the children have participated in a number of surveys as part of our current math unit on data analysis. Data has been represented in different ways, including tallies, picture graphs and charts. Data representation is a tool for organizing and understanding data, as well as a way to communicate the results to others. Here are some examples:
The children have also been working on their own representations of data, focusing on what their data can tell them and making it clear for themselves and for others. Watch this space for some examples of student representations in the near future. :-)
