Conducting Surveys

We learned a lot about each other last week with all of the surveys that we conducted. Everyone in the class had the chance to generate survey questions, choose their favourite with a partner, survey all of the children in the class and then make a representation of their data. Interesting!

The children really enjoyed the process of surveying all of their classmates. Figuring out how to record the data they collected while keeping track of who they had asked was at times a challenge!

Once all of the data had been collected, the partners decided how they wanted to make their representation. We looked at different examples of how we've done this as a class. Partners discussed what they wanted to do and then away they went....

Arjun and Gabriel used pictures.

Merlin and Daisy wrote names and used stickers.

Ella and Ophelia drew pictures and wrote an equation to match.

Knowing how surveys work is really useful. Can you think of a time, outside of school, when you participated in a survey? Please leave a comment to let us know!
