During Reading Workshop this week we've looked closely at the features of information books. The children learned about the ways that these features help readers to make meaning of what they are reading. Some were tricky to understand, such as the difference between a table of contents and an index. Captions weren't always easy to spot, but labels and close-ups seemed easier to find.
See if you can find some of these features in the non-fiction books that you have at home, too!
